Pier 1 Imports accused of employment discrimination claim

Under the law, women in the workplace are afforded the same rights as men. When it comes to pregnancy, there are clear and distinct laws about how women may be treated in the workplace and what special provisions may have to be made. In Colorado and elsewhere, employers can't simply fire or terminate an employee for being pregnant. However, a worker at Pier 1 Imports is suing the well-known home furnishings chain for employment discrimination, based on allegations over the company's mistreatment of her during her pregnancy.

County employees initiates age discrimination suit

Understandably, local and state governments have tightened their financial belts over the last few years. This has resulted in many people being terminated or laid off from government positions in Colorado and other states. However, one group of county employees has commenced a lawsuit that claims they lost their jobs because of age discrimination.

Employment disputes affect famous magician, David Copperfield

Many stage shows involve a great number of people behind the scenes. Magic shows are no different. For David Copperfield, employment disputes with his stagehands are making more headlines than the illusions they perform together. Anyone working behind the scenes of a production in Colorado may be interested in the outcome of the dispute.

Emergency worker receives settlement in wrongful termination case

Whenever someone leaves a job, there may be a difference of perspective as to why they were let go. If the party who was let go feels they were wrongfully terminated, there are legal options that can be pursued. Anyone who works for a town or municipality in Colorado may be interested in a medical worker in another state who filed and settled a wrongful termination suit against the town for which she worked after being let go.
