A man in another state has filed legal claims against his former employer after being let go from the company. A quick search in Google will show that wrongful termination is something that affects numerous people, in Colorado and elsewhere. Those who believe that they were fired unjustly do have the right to take legal actions in an effort to seek compensation for their resulting losses.
A former employee of a telecommunications company alleges that the company violated the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), when his requests for time off in order to care for his seriously ill mother were not accommodated. He was allegedly fired soon after submitting his FMLA requests. Since losing his job, this individual claims he has not been able to find suitable employment and has struggled with the loss of wages and benefits.
The company, Frontier West Virginia Inc., has not issued a public response to this individual’s claim. The plaintiff is requesting a jury trial. He is seeking reinstatement or, at least, front pay, compensatory and punitive damages, litigation costs and compensation for any other damages that are deemed legally recoverable.
The situation that this individual is in is similar to many situations that have affected numerous Colorado residents. Losing one’s job can be personally and professionally devastating. If one believes he or she is the victim of wrongful termination, legal recourse like those sought in this case may be available. An experienced employment attorney can assist in filing and litigating the appropriate civil claims in court. If successful, full and fair compensation can be achieved.
