Wrongful termination may negatively affect Colorado workers

On Behalf of | Mar 25, 2016 | Wrongful Termination

Many individuals often enjoy the jobs that they hold and hope to do their best while working. Therefore, when an individual is fired from their position, he pr she may feel disheartened and confused. If the termination came about without clear reason, some individuals may wish to gain answers regarding the termination. In some cases, the firing may not have been warranted, and the former worker may wish to file a wrongful termination claim.

Colorado residents may be interested in a similar situation taking place in another state. It was recently reported that a woman had been a county finance director before she was terminated from her position. Details on the incident were few, but the woman had apparently run for the office of recorder of deeds before the firing took place.

The woman believes that she was let go due to her running as a Democrat during her campaign for recorder of deeds. The county board chairman was reportedly responsible for the woman’s termination, and the woman claims that the chairman’s Republican party ties influenced the termination. As a result, she recently filed a lawsuit for wrongful termination and is seeking $50,000 in compensation.

Being let go from a job without a valid reason is a serious situation, and many individuals negatively affected by such actions likely want restitution. Therefore, if Colorado residents have been the victims of such wrongful termination, they may wish to consider taking legal action of their own. Information on filing a lawsuit may help them determine whether such steps suit their circumstances, and consulting with an experienced attorney could help them gain insight into their specific cases.
